All about me!
Hello! My name is Rachel and I am married to my husband Ben and have a daughter who is thirteen and sons who are ten and eight.
I am a creative person and enjoy making just about anything. I do a lot of card making and drawing, although I have tried many different types of craft like quilling, knitting, crochet, cross stitch and sewing. Recently I have been experimenting using scrapbooking software on my computer which I am really enjoying.
We have lived in Woodley for quite a few years. One of the things I really love about this area is the number of parks that we can walk to as I enjoy being outside. I am also located very near Busy Bees Nursery, Woodley Baptist Church Preschool and Woodley CofE School.
I am really loving being a mum and although I enjoyed my previous job as a statistical analyst, I found that it wasn’t practical for me to try and fit my family around my work. As a teenager I had always been involved in looking after children at crèches and babysitting for them and I had always wanted to do it as a job. Becoming a mum was the perfect time to make that career change. I started nannying for twins but trained to become a childminder in order to do it in my own home.
I find it amazing how children grow and develop into such different little people. I enjoy helping children to be creative in many ways as they find their talents and learn to express themselves. I have a lot of varied toys and books to encourage different types of play and a fantastic garden! I also like going to toddler groups where children are able to have a lot of varied opportunities, including social ones, which are a great introduction to going to preschool and later school.
I like to offer a friendly, fun home that works very closely with parents to continue the care they provide.
